I'm excited about the possibilities for the Streets of Shadow set so I thought I'd pass on my ideas about what minis we could expect to see. The title conjures images of an underdark city like Skullport for me, but also evokes visions of the alleys and sewers of Waterdeep. What can we expect from an urban-themed, non-PHH set?

Street Thugs: Thieves, Muggers, Robbers, Bullies, Pickpockets, Prisoners, Slaves, Slavers

Street Workers: Merchants, Bards, Entertainers, Prostitutes, Beggars, Horses, Oxen/Rothe, Carts, Wagons, Gladiators

Law Enforcement: Guards, City Watch, Soldiers, Knights, Militia

Rulers: Kings, Queens, Princes, High Priests, Overlords, Guildmasters

Siege Engines: Catapaults, Ballistae, Ram, Siege Tower

Vermin: Cockroaches, Rats, Slimes, Oozes, Molds, Roach Thralls, Beetles, Swarms

Graveyard/Sewer Monsters: Vampire, Vampire Spawn, Were anything, Shadows, Shambling Mounds, Otyugh, Carrion Crawlers, Mongrelfolk, Wraith

What am I missing?

I can also imagine some mages and other guild folk, like smiths, etc. But you got most bases covered.

The set title screams "Shadow Thieves" to me, but that maybe because I played Baldur's Gate a bit too much, back in the 90s.

I get the same feeling, dordledum. I think every city needs a good Thieves Guild and I hope they have a cool symbol to boot. The mages you mention should be necromancers or some other type of practitioners of the black arts.

How about pirates? Is that going too far for Streets of Shadow?

Sure! MM2 has two human pirates in. Wotc's middle year reward is a ship dungeon tile. Pirates ftw!

Not that I'm aware of.

Grave Elemental, Bone Golem, Stainglass Golem, Giant Zombie, Giant Skeleton, Otyugh, Deep Spawn, Eye of the Deep, Carriage, Chariot, Catapult, Displacer Beast, Illithurid, lots of large options.

Probably also Gargoyles (yay!) & 5-6 Drow (boo!).

I like the OP's list, but that is a set we've been told we'll never get - way too many non-combatant types.

My list is drawn from WOTC D&D source material regarding urban encounters. Perhaps it seems like wishful thinking, but 4E doesn't really have much that fits in a set titled Streets of Shadow.
Yet.
And is there not a city sourcebook scheduled for release right around the same time as this new set?
Also, it makes sense to leave out animals, beasts, dinosaurs, etc. when we have a set coming out in a few months titled Savage Encounters.
In the same vein, it makes sense to leave abberations out when we have Lords of Madness coming out following Streets of Shadow.
The current marketing scheme has PC's and monsters releasing in separate sets - so what happened to all those soldiers, archers, guards, and militiamen that used to be so well represented? I would expect to see them in Streets of Shadow before Savage Encounters or Lords of Madness.
Of course, I could be way off base here and just be reading way too much into the set titles, who knows? I guess I'm just accustomed to having a whole lot more info months before a set is released than we have been getting.
I'm really hoping that Streets of Shadow isn't just another way of referring to the Underdark like "Night Below"... Please.

I'd be surprised if Streets of Shadow is Underdark, I suspect it to be Urban.

Night Below did make sense because of the 2nd edition Underdark module called Night Below.

btw. Google just pointed out to me that Streets of Shadow was also a title of a Dungeon Tiles set. Anyone know what was in it? That might give us a hint.

Streets of Shadow Dungeon Tiles is mostly sewers on one side and city streets on the other. There are crowd tiles, rooftops, and even a horse and cart!

I'm thinking thinking vampires, bats for your evening encounters. And perhaps a mold or jelly or Ooze for the sewer encounters?

Quit talking crazy D. Now it probably has an awakened template and uses samurai swords in each tentacle.

HEY! how about a giant (medium or large sized) tentacle!! Perfect for sewer adventures! :D
