You don't need to get it cancelled Kilsek, just wait for 4.5 (Revised) in 2011-2013 and 5.0 in 2015-2017. Then 5.5 in 2019-2021 and 6.0 in 2023-2025. Rinse repeat. D&D is a cycle man, always has been, always will be. Just accept that 3.5 is now a game for bitter beardeds and join the Original through 2nd edders in creaping out and driving away younger players at small cons and gaming clubs.

4E "fixes" are being made by DDI, would surprise me to see 4.5... the money is incoming by DDI.

Obviously 3.5e is not dead. Pathfinder is definitely a success among the most experienced D&D groups. I don't know how successful is the 4.0 to newcomers.

Going back to blind boosters is good for ddm slirmish. I liked blind boosters more than the new visible system. I will buy more cases now.

I really don't care about distribution, I will still but the boosters and still get the minis I want via trade or singles market.

Ultimately sounds like DDM skirmish and the production of miniatures will continue (reading between the lines). I can't wait for XP to get the actual news (either from the Guild and or WotC).

I don't play skirmish so, as a DM, a visible Balor was fantastic. I got exactly what I wanted.

From a business point of view (because DDM is far from other companies qualities who sell singles) it makes more sense to put that Balor on a blind case and force us, poor consumers, to buy more and more to grab it... my humble opinion.

Guess Wotc's will have a hard time trying to explain why changing back to blinds, where I can't directly grab an Elder Green Dragon, is better for me...

As to your comment, Pathfinder does not require the most experienced D&D groups anymore than any other ed. Nor does it necessarily draw them in. In fact most of the "most experienced" (those who have been playing since it began 3-7 times a week or were raised on it since birth) D&D players in my area (that I've met/talked to) won't touch 3.x/pathfinder with a 10-foot bassilisk and call it the "Rules Lawyer" or "Anti-Role-Playing" edition. They will however touch 4.0 as it's at least "A step in the right direction that didn't go far enough." Their preference is for basic to 1st ed though.

Not surpised by the cancellation of PHB minis and I hope we go blind boosters again and go to 60 like the old days. Then maybe I will buy cases again. (unless they keep releasing the same monsters over and over)
We know its true that 4.5 is in the making and it will probably more based back to the RPG side of D&D seeing that D&D is a RPG game not a boardgame. The best part of D&D is the role playing not that move pieces across the board. (minis are a bonus for visuals not the game itself).
Pathfinder rocks but I still play AD&D and 3.5

While I would be in for a more focused in roleplaying 4.5 (which I hope 5E does) there's no hint that 4.5 is being produced. This is just wishful thinking or speculation.

Good or bad, 4E mechanics are more solid than 3.0 was, leaving no much space for a 1/2 edition.

Let's make a bet: I say it's easier they cut fourth edition lifespan in half and release 5E than making 4.5.
